Three useful checks, kept deliberately short.
A RM100,000 loan at 4.5% a year over 10 years has 120 scheduled monthly payments: Monthly rate = 4.5% Γ· 12 Β· Scheduled payment β RM1,036.38 Β· Adding RM200 each month shortens the simulated payoff and reduces total interest.
This estimate excludes fees, insurance, taxes, variable rates, penalties and lender-specific allocation or rounding rules.
